Kin is a social media app that is designed for smaller more personal interactions. It works by allowing users to create Spaces to which you can invite users to join. Your content can be tailored to those in a specific Space, and ONLY those in the Space will see it.

Kin doesn’t have adverts and we don’t sell your data.

Right now Kin is only accessible via Apple and Google mobile apps. We are planning a release of our web based application in 2023.

As a new user you will need to register for a Kin account. Just press ‘Get Started’ when you open the app and follow the on screen instructions. You will then be asked to Join or Create a Space. Tap to Create a Space and give your Space a name and you’re done. You will be given an invite code you can share with your friends and family so that they can join your new Space.

Great news, someone wants you to join their space. To do this you need to download the Kin app and register an account by entering an email address and password (or using your Google / Apple sign in) . You will then be asked to Join or Create a Space. Tap “Join” and enter the 8 character code given to you by your friend. This will place you into their Space.

Yes! You can create and/or be a guest in as many Spaces as you like. There is no restriction. Go wild, create a Space for anyone and everything :)

In the top navigation bar you will see the name of the Space you are viewing. Tap this to open the Space menu. The first items in the list is “Join a Space”. Tap this and then enter the 8 character code for the Space you have been invited to.

When you first create or join a Space you land on the Storyline. Users can post text, images and video in to the Storyline for all users of the Space to see. Users can react and comment on these posts.

The Storyline and Chat offer different features. Anything posted to the Storyline is seen by all members of the Space. You can attach images and videos of text and you can tag people in the posts. These posts can be searched for.

Chat messages are only shown to the users in that chat. Images and video have captions and users cannot be tagged. Chat messages do not have the same rich search functionality as posts.

Not yet but we are working on it. For now you can tag users on the post itself.

No. You can add or remove other members from the group but you cannot remove yourself.
